8-string ukuleles have "bent" strings and are widely used to produce a more rhythmic sound. The characteristic chorus effect is the result of octave and unison harmonies occurring from string to string. The "High Tide" series of ukuleles is inspired by the full moon at the first fret, which causes the wavy abalone fret markers below it to "rise" as they make their way up the fretboard towards the attraction of Moon. They are made from exotic tropical hardwoods and have the mouth framed by an abalone rosette. Mahogany neck, which gives it a full and deep sound, along with the size of the tenor body.
