Using an inking process, the laser-etched tattoo design is inspired by Hawaiian body ornamentation. The ancient Polynesians believed that tattooing was a way of approaching the divine and a bold statement. The motifs and design were strongly geometric with many shapes and symbols representative of the natural world of the island: stones, waves, fish, sharks, turtles, rain, sun, birds. This design is mainly based on waves and sharks' teeth, which also appear as fret markers. The mahogany body and walnut fingerboard provide a warm tone. Includes case.
